My background includes a very close family with supportive parents and grandparents. My immediate family, extended family, and close friends take annual vacations to unwind, relax and share a few laughs.
EUGENE'S BIO
Mr. Eugene Hawkins, III is an Agent/Owner of a State Farm Insurance Agency in Pontiac, MI. He has over 30 years of professional experience in Insurance and Financial Services. He began his career as a Claim Representative in Livonia, MI. He is a graduate of Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice and Central Michigan University with a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Administration. He was appointed to the Michigan State Advisory Council for State Farm Insurance Company.
Eugene has been a resident of Auburn Hills, MI, for the past 25 years. He moved to Auburn Hills, MI, upon graduating from Michigan State University. The city of Auburn Hills was attractive to Eugene because, at the time, the city was a growing community with award-winning schools, new subdivisions, and new business developments.
Councilman Eugene Hawkins currently serves the City of Auburn Hills on the City Council, The Public Safety Advisory Committee, The Tax Increment Finance Authority Board of Directors, The Auburn Hills Rotary Club, and The Pontiac Youth Assistance, which assists Auburn Hills students and families that attend Pontiac Schools. In addition, he is the current President of the Hunt Club Homeowners Association in Auburn Hills, MI.
Eugene volunteers his time and is currently active in various organizations, including the Pontiac Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Pontiac Kappa Foundation, and the Oakland County Sheriff Office. In addition, he is a supporter and former Basketball coach at the Matilda R. Wilson Boys and Girls Club.
In 2018, Eugene was selected and appointed by the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police to serve as a Commissioner on the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission. The purpose of the Commission is to establish and maintain standards for law enforcement agencies' operation and improve the delivery of Law Enforcement services throughout the State of Michigan.
Eugene and his wife, Rae of 28 years, are blessed to have one son, Isaiah. Rae is an educator in the Detroit Public Schools. Isaiah attended various schools within the Avondale School District. Isaiah is a graduate of Michigan State University, and currently attending graduate school .
Eugene enjoys bowling, golfing, reading, swimming, traveling, meeting new people, and rooting for his beloved Detroit Tigers and MSU Spartans in his spare time. In addition, he is an avid history buff and loves to watch documentaries.
